Truth #1 - There are Palestinians starving in Gaza. Aide is not getting to the people. The most vulnerable population, children, are dying of malnutrition. Even one death is tragic. Death by deliberate starvation is not only cruel, but is also a war crime and crime against humanity. But who is actually to blame for this unfolding humanitarian crisis?
Truth #2 - Israel is not blocking aide delivery. As of this morning over 900 truckloads have already passed through the Kerem Shalom crossing and are awaiting distribution. Israel does not distribute the aide once it's in Gaza. That's the UN's job and the one stipulation Israel has in place is that someone other than Hamas collect and "distribute" the aide. They've been known to steal, hoard, and resell aide at jacked up prices throughout the war.
The American run GHF (Gaza Health Fund) has successfully distributed aide to approximately 1 million Gazans, but this current round of aide is supposed to be distributed by the UN. The UN refuses to let Israel provide security for the aide even though most aide trucks get looted before they reach their destination. The UN wants to work with Hamas to distribute aide, bypassing GHF altogether. There are even talks about taking the aide and air dropping it.
In short, there is a lot of aide sitting inside Gaza, rotting in the sun because of stupid disputes on distribution.
Truth #3 - Physical antisemitism has risen by a whooping 340% globally. Places like France, the UK, Canada, Australia, and America have become increasingly dangerous for Jews since 2023. Online antisemitism has also risen between 300-400%. This rise in antisemitism equates to daily incidents of hate, violence, and discrimination globally both in the physical and digital worlds.
Truth #4 - Jews are indigenous to Judea, but with centuries of migration, expulsion, war, and exploration have migrated to nearly every corner of the planet. There are Jews in Singapore, Nigeria, India, Iran, Jamaica... all across Europe, the Americas, Australia... We've traveled and worked hard to integrate into the countries that have hosted us. But our history, our culture, our language, and our religion is all based on the land we came from... Judea. The kingdom of David in the land of Israel.
Truth #5 - There is more than one group of people who are indigenous to the region of the middle east known as the Levant. (What is modern day Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.) Including, but not limited to... 1. Jews, 2. Samaritans, 3. Palestinians, 4. Druze, 5. Arameans/Syriac Christians, and 6. Bedouin.
Jews trace their roots back over 3,000 years to the ancient Israelites in the Southern Levant (modern-day Israel). Jews maintain a continuous historical, religious, and cultural connection to the land. Despite periods of exile and diaspora, a continuous Jewish presence has persisted in the region. Judaism, a monotheistic religion, and Hebrew, an ancient language, are central to the identity and heritage of Jews as an indigenous people.
Samaritans are a small ethnoreligious group who also traces its direct ancestry to the ancient Israelites, particularly the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh who remained in Samaria after the Assyrian conquest. They consider Mount Gerizim their holiest site, distinct from Jerusalem, and recognize only their version of the Pentateuch as sacred scripture. They have maintained a continuous and distinct presence in the Levant for millennia.
Druze are a distinct ethnoreligious community whose faith originated in the 11th century as an offshoot of Islam, incorporating elements from various philosophies. They primarily reside in mountainous regions of Syria, Lebanon, and Israel, maintaining a unique culture, a secretive religion, and a strong sense of community. Their ancestral roots are deeply intertwined with the historical populations of the Levant.
Bedouins are traditionally nomadic or semi-nomadic Arab tribes who have historically inhabited the desert regions across the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, and parts of the Levant for centuries. While primarily identifying as Arab, their distinct tribal structures, nomadic lifestyle (though many are now sedentarized), and deep knowledge of the desert environment mark them as an indigenous people of these arid regions within the Levant.
Arameans/Syriac Christians are communities of descendants of the ancient Aramaic-speaking peoples who were prominent across Mesopotamia and the Levant from the late Bronze Age onwards. Many contemporary Syriac Christian denominations (Syriac Orthodox, Maronite) maintain their Aramaic linguistic heritage in liturgy and culture, representing a continuous indigenous presence in parts of Syria, Lebanon, and other areas of the Levant.
Palestinians assert their indigeneity, tracing their lineage back to the diverse ancient populations who have continuously inhabited the land now known as Palestine for millennia, including Canaanites, Philistines, Israelites, and later Arab migrants and converts. They share a common cultural and linguistic identity, speaking a distinct dialect of Arabic, and their history is deeply rooted in the land.
