May 4, 2025 - Day 576 - Teacher's Strike

After over a year and half of war, Israel's newest budget includes a 3.3% salary reduction for teachers with no compensation for the loss of wages.

So as of today, Sunday morning (the beginning of the work week in Israel), we are striking until 11:00 (updated to 10:00).

Teachers, globally not just in Israel, are working in what feels like a dying field with no resources. The people who call themselves teachers are not volunteers, or babysitters. We are highly educated professionals who teach the future generations.

Granted we are not the only government agency facing cuts... We are the only agency that remains uncompensated, hence the strike.

Fund schools.
Support education.
Pay your teachers (cuz guess what, we are humans and have bills too).

Since the covid-19 pandemic swept the world teachers have gone from heroes to villains and back again. We are not bad guys. We are also not heroes. We are professionals trying to do our jobs in a thankless and rapidly changing field.

Support us.
Work with us.
Together we can raise a resilient, strong, and empathetic new generation.

But with all do respect... With fair compensation.
