That's it. The ceasefire is (has been) over. The war is back on.
Hamas, of course, have gone back into their tunnels while leaving their people to be the face of their war. Left to pay the price of Hamas' cruelty.
Then there are the hostages. 59 remain and although Hamas could end the suffering on both sides, they continually refuse to release the hostages. Thus leaving the Palestinian population to be their human shields once again.
Fuck Hamas.
Fuck the Houthis. Who, have taken up firing ballistic missiles our way again.
Fuck them for scaring my children. For making my daughter cry.
I'm sick of this war. We all are sick of it.
Israelis want it to end.
Gazans want it to end.
Hamas' sadistically cruel death grip on power keeps us all in perpetual suffering.
Tonight, while my youngest was watching a bedtime show, and I was braiding my oldest's hair, sirens wailed in Tekoa. Our simple girl's night while daddy is at work, was suddenly interrupted. I found myself holding my girls, dog near my feet...telling them that everything is going to be ok.
It made me hate Hamas more.
Israelis have been taking to the streets in recent days to protest the return to war. But I think the narrative of our protests should be that of "Release our Hostages", as opposed to "Bring them Home". Releasing them, puts the pressure on Hamas and the international community. Bringing them home, put the pressure on ourselves.
We allowed Hamas to break the terms of the ceasefire many times over the last month (or two).. just so we could get back a few precious souls (and bodies) back from the depths of hell. It's been 3 weeks since anyone was released and intelligence proved that Hamas was gearing up for another October 7 style attack.
So I say again.
Fuck Hamas. Your time torturing the people of Gaza and the peace seeking communities surrounding it is going to end.
Release the hostages NOW!
