Yarden Bibas (34), Keith Siegel (65), and Ofer Calderon (54) came home.
The stages were set. The pomp and circumstance of another Hamas release was staged for the world. Red Cross played their role to a T.
Ofer is an Israeli-French dual citizen. He, his ex-wife Hadas, and two children were abducted on October 7, 2023. Hadas and the two children were released in November 2023. They have been desperately awaiting his return since.
Keith is an Israeli-American dual citizen. He was originally from North Carolina, but immigrated 40 years ago to Israel. His wife, Aviva was also kidnapped and returned in November 2023. Aviva and their children have been fighting for his release since.
Then there is Yarden.
A young father of two beautiful boys, Ariel and Kfir. A husband to Shiri. The whole family was brutally taken by Hamas. Yarden was separated from Shiri and their boys. Nothing has been heard about the family until Yarden's release announcement yesterday.
Shiri and the boys are the only civilian children and woman left behind. Yarden is coming home to the most unimaginable pain anyone could imagine. He's not coming home to the warm embrace of his loved ones, and not to the pain of graves or bodies.. but the pain of not knowing.. while really knowing. The pain of being so close, but unable to do anything to save the most important people in his world. His wife and children. The mix of joy of his return, and pain over the questions surrounding the official status of his wife and children is so painful.
We all wait with baited breath and pray for all of the hostages.
Yarden, Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas.
A whole nation is waiting to embrace you and help you through inconceivable circumstances.
