As we prepare to celebrate Passover (as Christians refer to as "the last supper") our holiday of redemption and the return to our holy land, Israel, we cannot forget our 133 brothers and sisters still in captivity.
We pray for another miracle to be revealed, much like the surprise alliance that saved Israel from the Islamic Republic's massive attack roughly a week ago.
We pray that all of the hostages return to us from Gaza, and their captors see justice for their crimes against humanity. May we continue to see your miracles from ancient times and up to and including now, and may it lead us to true freedom from hatred, and reveal to us your peace on earth.
May it be the will of God, who took the people of Israel out of the yoke of Egypt, to bless and save our brothers and sisters, the hostages who are held in Gaza. strengthen their souls and faith, protect them from all harm and sickness, have mercy on your sons and daughters who seek your salvation, and annul all cruel decrees.
With your great kindness, may you expedite their redemption and speedily take them from darkness to light, and from the abyss of captivity to eternal freedom, and return them safely to their families and homes.
Please plant brotherhood, humanity, peace and friendship in everyone’s hearts.
Remove jealousy and baseless hatred, and spread over us the shelter of Your peace; and we should soon merit to sing before You a new song.
Our family, the whole house of Israel, who are in distress, or in captivity — who stand either in the sea or on dry land — may the Omnipresent have mercy on them and take them out from narrowness to expanse, and from darkness to light, and from oppression to redemption... Now!
Blessed are You, Oh Holy One, Our God, Creator of the Universe, who frees the captive.
Amen.
