Day 139 - February 22, 2024 - A Traffic Jam from Hell

Imagine you're stuck in traffic.

A standstill.

There's no shoulder on the road and the closer you get to the crossing (checkpoint) the narrower the road becomes.

Now imagine two terrorists come zigzagging on foot through the motionless traffic opening fire indiscriminately at cars.

Civilians.

Now imagine that one of those drivers, stuck in her vehicle, was a woman pregnant in her 8th month.

Imagine who else could have been there... Stuck in a mundane everyday activity such as a traffic jam. On a random Thursday morning on the way to work, school, coffee with a friend, grocery shopping, a doctor's appointment...

This was the reality this morning, near Jerusalem, when two brother from Bethlehem decided to rain terror down on a traffic jam.

The woman pregnant in her 8th month was critically shot and is undergoing complicated, hopefully life saving, surgeries and treatments.

The traffic was so backed up that people abandoned their vehicles and tried to run away on foot.

11 were injured.

1 lost his life.

... in a traffic jam.
