Day 20 - October 26, 2023 - Antisemitisim in Los Angeles

Meanwhile back in my old stomping grounds of Los Angeles, a man in Studio City attempted to break in to a Jewish home while yelling "free Palestine" and other derogatory Jewish slurs, while threatening to kill everyone inside.

In a statement, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the incident a “vile act of hate.” “In the wake of the terror and violence inflicted over the previous weeks, this is one of the worst fears of Jewish families across our country — hatred spilling across the threshold, destroying the sense of safety and sanctuary in a home,” Bass said. “We remain steadfast in support of the Jewish people. The people of Los Angeles will not cower to hate.”

While hate continues to spread around the globe, I'd like to take a moment and remind you (and myself) of all of my previous requests to put more light and goodness into the world.

The more we see, the more we will want to turn away. Which means we must work even harder to counteract it.

The darkness can spread like a disease to places you didn't even think possible. There have been hate crimes rising all across Europe, Japan (yes you read that right, an Israeli embassy worker was stabbed), and even Los Angeles.

Be the light that outshines the darkness.
